It’s about time to talk about the amazing Lion’esque fashions that hit the red carpets this past week, as well as some of the Why-en’esque fashions, as in Why did you wear that? This week there were some high profile movie premiers that had A-list celebs decked out in some incredible pieces. The theme was drama at the Snow White and the Huntsman premiere. The ladies kept it sexy and feminine at the What to Expect When You’re Expecting premier, while at the Battleship premier we saw a lot of skin (almost too much, Rihanna).
One hit of the week was Charlize Theron in a black sheer Dior gown. She looked stunning as always using just a touch of emerald green with her earrings to add a pop of color, or some POC as Brad Goreski would say. The great thing about going sheer is that you don’t always have to do it in dress form. Not all girls want to reveal it all, so take on the sheer trend by using some great accessories like our Ashi Headband by Daniela Millan. Add it with the N28 Seamlessly Knit Convertible Eco Dress by N:F:P and get the sexy look without having to feel naked.
Another stand out was Anna Kendrick at the What to Expect When You’re Expecting Premier. She was sparkling in a sequenced nude cocktail dress from the Elie Saab 2012 Couture collection. Tailored to perfection at the perfect length and accessorized with pops of gold AND silver (yes girls, you can do both if you do it right).
The Python Barrel Clutch by Cecelia is the perfect clutch to help you wear silver and gold right! It goes with almost anything and adds a sophisticated yet sexy touch to any outfit.
At the much anticipated Battleship premier, singer turned actress, well we will see about the actress part, Rihanna showed up in an Adam Selman backless white gown that left little to the imagination. Although she looked stunning, a few soft gusts of wind would have shown the entire world her battleships. With such a sexy gown, she let her jewelry be simple with small edgy hoop earrings and a gold cuff. Get this look with our Everyday Perfection Hoopsby Heather Belle and Black Leather Cuff by Daniela Zagnolli.
Now of course I had to save the best for last, but by best I mean worst. Here is the Why-en’esque Look of the week worn by new breakout star and fashion model Brooklyn Decker.
While I appreciate her use of color, and mix of patterns, this dress makes her look slightly distorted and about 30 years older. A mom at the beach should have worn this dress, not a sexy model on a red carpet. She really had me asking, Why?
